Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in the year 2008, by the group of dedicated and technical professionals with the primary aim to provide quality technicaleducation to the students of Odisha. The promoters of this group enjoy high ranking in the educational field and have already carved a niche for themselves in revolutionizing technical education in the state of Odisha by their practical oriented approach in teaching and its applicability to the industry.    
 
Maharaja institute of Technology was started with the sufficient infrastructure and facilities and the campus is a self-sufficient enclave with a number of conveniences thoughtfully provided by the college authorities.
The institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, offers under-graduate programmes in six branches of engineering namely, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Comp Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
 
Utmost care is taken to groom the students right from the day he/she joins the institute to make him/her industry ready. In the academic side four aspects are given due importance :
i. All faculties put all their efforts to bring the conceptual clarity in all the subjects they teach.
ii. Each student passes through a rigorous process of personality development and training in communication skills from the second semester itself.
iii. Each laboratory experiment is carried out in systematic manner so as to hone the skill of the students.
iv. They are also given technical value addition in relevant areas of interest to make them industry ready. The students undergo internship in reputed industries.
 
The placement record of the students is quite appreciable with average annual campus recruitment of about 82%.The students have been placed in premier organizations like – Saint Gobain, Simplex, Murugappa group, L &T along with all the IT majors - Infosys, Wipro, CTS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and so  on. The alumni working in various positions contribute to the Alma matter through a very strong alumni network.
 
We enjoy tremendous location advantage as we are based just by the side of NH-5 near to IIT Bhubaneswar. Moreover we are widely connected by road and rail, the distance is hardly 04 km from the NH-5 and 06 km from Khurda railway station.
