Basic Education Scheme propounded by Mahatma Gandhi, the Basic Education Advisory Committee was formed in 1946. The Committee envisaged the construction of six Training Centers in different places of Assam. As a result, the present Basic Training Centre at Raha was established on 7th March, 1949 especially for the female trainees of the state. The then Chief Minister of Assam Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi inaugurated the Centre in 1949, where various long term and short term courses have been conducted and still it is going on.
The building consisting of existing teacher education course of the following infrastructure in the approved plan as per provisions of NCTE Regulation, 2009.
