S M Shanbhag Hegdekar Institute of Teachers Training offers teachers training leading to D.Ed. To increase the pool of well-qualified teachers and to expand the educational opportunities in the community, we have established a Teachers Training Institute, which has been approved by the Government of Karnataka to offer courses leading to the D. Ed starting from the 2006-2007 academic year.  

Our trustee and Vice Chairman Shri S M Shanbhag Hegdekar has donated Rs.15 Lakhs for establishing this institute and the board of trustees resolved to name the institute in his name. Shri S M Shanbhag has also contributed liberally earlier for construction of class rooms, providing laboratory equipments and materials and always a source of inspiration for other trustees.
