Since then it occupies an unique place in the history of Bellary District and contributed a lot in the field of Education by establishing more than twenty various educational institutions in different parts of the district during its nine decades of service. Our Kottureshwara college, Kottur came into existence in 1967 due to the earnest efforts of the dignitaries of the Sangha aiming at the interest of the rural folk. Our college is the first of its kind in this venture. Since its beginning, it has brought a great cultural transformation by inducing the Rural students to become Scientists, Doctors, Engineers,Lawyers, Teachers, Journalists, Social workers and Politicians too
