R. C. College of Education, Dhanot R.C. College of Education, Dhanot, P.O. Adhwani, Teh. Jawalamukhi Distt. Kangra (H.P.) has come into existence with the efforts of R. C. Shiksha Samiti Dhanot and the courtesy of Himachal Pradesh Govt., H.P. University Shimla, NCTE Jaipur and H.P. Board of School Education Dharamshala. This College is one of the oldest B.Ed. College in the area (successfully completed 8 sessions). The College introduced Teaching of B.Ed. Course in the year 2003-2004 with an annual intake of 60 students in B.Ed. in all the three streams (Medical, Non-Medical and Arts/Commerce). This intake has been allowed to be increased to 100 seats by the NCTE & H.P. University Shimla for the academic session 2005- 2006 onward and JBT course with an intake of 50 students started from the academic session 2008-10 onward. From session 2015-16 onwards the duration of B.Ed. course has been increased to two years with annual intake of one unit i.e 50 students. This College has very beautiful and peaceful site between the vallies of Shivalik and Kalidhar ranges of Dehra sub-division, Distt. Kangra (H.P.) The College has its own building located in noise free atmosphere. It is situated at a distance 8 Kms from the main historical town of Jawalamukhi and 6 Kms from Nadaun and is well connected by metalled roads approaching doubly. There are twenty two rooms with sufficient light and ventilation in the College building housing class rooms, Library, Computer Lab, Laboratories, common room, offices and visitor room etc. There is a separate Assembly Hall with adequate and comfortable seating arrangement for cultural programme etc. Separate Toilets - for boys, girls and staff has been properly maintained. Playground - There is an open space for athletics, badminton, Volley ball, Basket ball etc. College has indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom Board. Furniture - There is a provision of 200 seats in the hall and there are 181 Students desks. There is separate furniture for the use of office staff room, common room, reading room and Principal’s office. There are sufficient bookshelves, steel almirahs and wooden almirahs. All the Laboratories have been equipped with adequate furniture and infrastructure. Library – College Library consists of more than 6168 books for B.Ed. and JBT of different subjects and Encyclopedia on Education. It has a spacious reading room. The College subscribes to most of the important Magazines, Journals, Periodicals and a number of Newspapers. Science Laboratory – This Institution has multiple sets of Science apparatus required to perform and demonstrate all the experiments prescribed in the secondary and senior classes. Psychological Laboratory–This laboratory is equipped with the apparatus of simple experiments related to educational psychological, Intelligence Tests, Aptitude Tests, Creativity Tests, Personality Scales and Attitude Tests etc. Educational Technology – Radio-1, T.V. – 1, Audio Cassette Recorder – 1, Slide-cum Film Projector- 1, Over Head Projector – 1, Art Materials for Preparation of chart, V.C.R. – 1, Amplifier- 1, Loud Speaker – 2, Microphone – 1 etc. Language Laboratory - 90 Watt max PA Cassette Recorder Amplifier with thirteen set of Micro Phones and Head Phones. Computer Lab - Computer Education is compulsory for all the Students. The College has a well-established Computer Laboratory. It has 20 Computers and 1 Laptop with UPS, LAN Connectivity, Internet as per basic requirement of the Students. Tuck- Shop - This institution is providing a facility of College tuck-shop for the staff and the students. Hostel Accommodation –This College has made an arrangement of Hostel or accommodation for 20 students, Water, & Electricity facility will be provided for the hostlers. Other necessary amenities will also be provided to all the aspirants who will reside in the hostel. Extra Facilities. There is a Tube-well in the College premises, having 24 hours water supply facilities. Three phased electricity supply to the College with its own Generator in case of emergency is regularly maintained. College has purchased its own Photostat machine & Water Cooler.
