RV Teachers Training Institute, Bangalore was established in 1951 due to the foresight and vision of their founder secretary Late M.C.Shivananda Sharma. The College was the first private teacher's college to be started in the state of Mysore, now Karnataka by Rashtreeya Shikshana Samithi. Later the Samithi was converted into a Trust. The foundation stone of the college was laid by the then Maharaja of Mysore, Sri.Jayachamaraja Wodeyar. He blessed the college on that day and wished it all success. The land of the college was made available by the then Chief Minister of Mysore, Sri.K.Hanumanthaiah. Rashtreeya Shikshana Samithi is administering more than two dozen institutions like the Engineering College, Dental College, NMKRV College and SSMRV College and the Teachers College, to name a few.
