The CSI College of Education, Parassala has been established in 1995 as an unaided college as per order No.12004/B3/95/ H. Edn dated 6-10-1995 Government of Kerala, affiliated to the University of Kerala Ac B1.3775/95 dated 23.11.1995 and recognized by NCTE F/SRO/NCTE/1999 – 2000/8651 dated 9.06.1999 is a minority institution and owned by the Society for Higher Education, Diocese of South Kerala,(S.I.U.C) Church of South India. The college was formally inaugurated by our former Bishop – Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Amirtham on 03-01-1996. The college is committed to impart holistic end so as to make our student teacher’s real assets to the New Millennium. We envisage developing its field by offering more courses in various aspects of Teacher education with the sanction of the concerned authorities in near Future. The College at present imparts training to 100 students in five different school subjects viz.teaching of (a) English (b) Mathematics (c) Physical Science (d) Natural Science (e) Social Science. The College is situated in the border village, Parassala at Neyyattinkara taluk, Kerala, a near village to Tamil Nadu. The nearest Railway Station is Parassala ( 2 k.m ) and the Airport is Trivandrum International ( 18 k.m ).The college management governs number of Education Institutions, such as Dr. Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College,Karakonam, John Cox Institute of Technology,Kannanmoola, CSI Institute of Legal Studies, Parassala, Christian college, Kattakada , Teacher Training Institutes, Number of aided and unaided – Lower and Upper Primary schools , High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools
