AWH Special College Admission

AWH Special College is a prestigious institution of higher learning founded by the Association for Welfare of the Handicapped (AWH) in the year 1996. We are proud to declare that this college plays a significant role in the higher education of northern Kerala State and is the pioneer institution in the educational field of physiotherapy, genetics, audiology and speech language pathology. Genetics is a new emerging field of science with tremendous potential in the field of management of genetic diseases, syndromes, deformities, and health in general. Therefore it opens a wide horizon of research scope. B. Sc genetics is offered only in AWH in the state. The College offers under-graduate and post-graduate programmes in physiotherapy and audiology and speech language pathology. We have other undergraduate B.Sc Programmes in computer science, electronics, and geology. We also provide PG programme in social work. All our courses are sanctioned by the Government of Kerala and are duly affiliated to the University of Calicut. We have recognition from Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) for the relevant programs.

The Association for Welfare of the Handicapped (AWH) is a major charitable voluntary organization working in the Indian state of Kerala. The service of the Association is in the field of human resource development in the area of disability welfare.

Boys Hostel

The college has a Boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. Separate hostel facilities for boys are available on campus. The hostels are supervised by inmate wardens.

AWH Special College Placements

There no campus placement but providing several workshops and skill development sources and industrial visits per year. My plan after the degree was to get a job. I'm working in a company. You have considered the placement thing.College doesn't provide stipend. But we have an internship of 4 months , its actually a a training so there is absolutely no stipend. The training spans 2 months in an upper primary school and the next two months in an high school.After getting the degree I would like to work at KMCT for the year as it is a good college and hospital. And I would also like to take a pg in anatomy and become a lecturer in the same college itself and as a part-time job consultant at home.Placement rate of the college is nice. Our college has its own hospital so one can also get absorbed there. Internship is offered by the college's hospital however one can opt for the same outside. I applied outside and did Internship in a government college.The placement and job opportunities in the field of medicine are enormous. Jobs are available in both government and private sector with high salary packages. The college also provides internships in the department of attached hospitals.Medical college is not a place for placement we go on with developing our skills thourough classes so that survival of the fittestActually this not an industrial feild to set up any placement.first we have to complete our whole mbbs.We have a compulsory internship after our 4 and a half year course. The internship duration is 1 year and we have to work in almost all fields of medicine day in and out. This sure is a wonderful experience and most of the undergraduates will really understand their areas of interest and to what they have to pursue for their post graduation.
