Mar Elias College, Kottappady is a private self-financing Christian Minority arts and science college established in 2006 by Kalkkunnel Mar Geevarghese Sahada Trust. It is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and approved by the Government of Kerala. The serene campus sprawling over 7.49 acers is located at Kottappady, near Kothamangalam, the doorstep of Western Ghats of Kerala. The idyllic location of the campus enjoys the refreshing aura of the rural ambience and provides a conducive ambience for learning. The nearest railway station is Aluva, 32 km west and the nearest airport is Cochin International Airport 31 km northwest of the College. The college has been accredited with B++ Grade by NAAC in June 2023. The College offers eight undergraduate and three postgraduate programmes. It has state- of-the-art infrastructure facilities for effective teaching and learning. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and there is an ICT enabled library with a good collection of books and journals. Besides, there is a football court and a volleyball court on the campus and also a canteen is functioning for the students and staff. The present eminence of the College is the result of the long vision and resolute commitment of the Management coupled with the unconditional cooperation and hardwork of the staff and students. Above all, the intercession and blessings of the Patron Saints, Mar Ignatius Elias III and St. George have been the major guiding spirit. Admission Procedures

Admission procedures are based on the regulations of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. 50% of the total seats shall be filled by the management from among candidates of their choice provided they satisfy the eligibility conditions. The remaining seats (50%) shall be distributed and filled by the Mahatma Gandhi University through online allotment process. The Application Form can be either collected from college office or online on payment of a specific fee. No donation or capitation is required. Selection of students is purely based on academic excellence following First Come First Served' policy. No external agency is entrusted for any kind of admission procedures. The regular undergraduate courses following Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and post-graduate courses based on the Credit Semester System (CSS), a combination of internal and external evaluation with grading.

Library

Libraries are places where there are no restrictions on access to information in a variety of formats and sources. They are repositories of information. Our college features a well-organized library system that supports the reading and learning needs of students and faculty. Library contains nearly 4796 books and journals of different subjects. A good collection of reference books are maintained in our library. For having a precise idea about the present circumstances of our society, we are subscribing to many leading magazines and newspapers. Library books are classified subject wise according to Dewey Decimal Classification. Our library has a seating capacity of 50 nos. and  is located in the main Administrative Block of our campus with a total area of 163 Sq.m.

Computer Labs

Mar Elias college maintains a sophisticated computer lab with sufficiently configured computers. Individual access and the students get hand on experience in the lab. The computer terminals are connected with Local Area Network (LAN)  so that students can make use of internet for study purpose.

Canteen

The canteen is located inside the College.  The  canteen is run by the management. College canteen benefit College students and staff. The management is fully committed to keeping the quality of the canteen for the utmost benefit of all concerned.

College Bus Facility

The college provides excellent conveyance for the students and faculty.Bus service is provided to and from the College with the safety and convenience of our students as a priority.Our College proactively manages the transportation process. 

 College buses are available from Kothamangalam, Keerampara, Kuruppampady, Irumalapady and Perumbavoor.
