Mar Athanasius College of Engineering pioneered engineering education in central Kerala in 1961. Managed by Mar Athanasius College Association, Aided by the Government of Kerala, the college was the first in Asia under Christian Management. It was also the first engineering college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and is now affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. MACE, as it is popularly known, has grown by leaps and bounds since. It now has six full-fledged departments apart from the two auxiliary departments of Mathematics and Science and Humanities.

Admission Process of Mar Athanasius Engineering College 

Candidates have to register online on the website of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and submit an online application.

Admission will be offered on the basis of the merit of the qualifying exam.

Based on the marks secured in the qualifying exam, a rank list will be prepared.

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the rank secured in the rank list.

Shortlisted candidates have to participate in the institute level counselling for seat allotment.

Final admission will be based on merit, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

Library - The institution has a library that has all kinds of text and reference books for the students and is a perfect place for book lovers.

Sports - The institute provides sports facilities and encourages them to participate in indoor and outdoor games for their physical and mental well being.

Swimming Pool - There is a swimming pool present the institute premises for the students to relax amid the busy schedule.

Laboratories - The institution has laboratories for the students in order to apply their knowledge practically and gain exposure. These laboratories are well equipped with the latest technologies and equipment.

Computing Centre - The institute has a computing centre to satisfy all the computational and technological requirements of the students and the faculty.

Seminar Halls - Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam has a seminar hall which is used in organising events and activities for the students.

Sports

Mar Athanasius Academy has got its name in golden letters in the field of Sports and Games. The students have made outstanding achievements in international, national and university level competitions. The training and facilities given in the academy are remarkable. The management has instituted scholarships for the enhancement of sports in the campus. In recognition of achievements in sports, Sports Authority of India (SAI) selected Mar Athanasius College as its extension center. The college has provided the maximum number of men athletes in the All India Inter University Championship for the last three years and secured 14 Gold, 9 Silver, and 3 Bronze Medals.

HOSTEL FACILITIES

College provides hostel facilities separately for both boys and girls. A senior member of the staff is appointed as the warden who looks after the day-to-day affairs and general discipline of the hostel. The total intake of gent's hostel is 570 and ladies' hostel is 510. There is telephonic access to all rooms and round-the-clock Wi-Fi connectivity in the hostel. Accommodations are available for visiting faculty members and resource persons attending various programmes. Affectionate discipline and tasty food at moderate rates are the distinctive features of the MACE hostels.

Mar Athanasius Engineering College Placements

MACE Kothamangalam has a training and placement cell to assist the students in the placement process. The MACE Kothamangalam placement cell also provides placement training to train students for successful placement. Some of the training provided by the cell include personality development training, soft-skills training, aptitude training, resume making, group discussion, mock interviews, etc. A host of seminars and workshops are also organised by the cell to give the students exposure to the corporate world. Mar Athanasius College of Engineering placement is conducted on-campus. Recruiters like HCL, Wipro, Bosch, Infosys, Mahindra, Oracle, IBM, Accenture, Apollo, Microsoft to name a few have visited the campus for the placement drive. As per the MACE Kothamangalam placement statistics, about 70+ students have been placed with a package of Rs. 7 LPA and above in the year 2022. Internship assistance and career counselling is also provided to the students at MACE Kothamangalam.

PLACEMENT CELL ACTIVITIES

Orientation talks with alumni are organized to create awareness among students about career planning and career mapping.

MACE gives utmost importance to the practical exposure of students. Hence, industry experts of reputed companies L&T, MRF, Cognizant, TCS & Maruti Suzuki are invited for talks to keep the students up to date with the industry trends and make them understand the real world.

MACE imparts new skill sets that are relevant to the current industry demands by providing focused training in aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, soft skills, technical skills and group discussion.

Mock interviews are conducted on a regular basis to familiarize students with the interview process and allow them to practice answering common interview questions with confidence.

Customized test practice platforms and question banks with well curated questions are provided to enhance employability skills.
