Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy is the realization of a long cherished dream of the people of Chalakudy and the suburbs. The will of the people assisted by Divine blessings and the profound fellow feeling of the Clarist Sisters paved the way for the establishment of the college in 1980 by the Alvernia Province of Franciscan Clarist Congregation. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut and is aided by the Government of Kerala. Located within the municipal limits of Chalakudy with a 26-acre lush green campus, the college provides a congenial ambience for the overall advancement of the students. In 1991, the college was upgraded to a first grade College by the Government of Kerala. At present, the College offers 9 UG Programmes, 8 PG Programmes and an integrated PG programme (M Sc. Psychology). The College has completed 43 years of meritorious service in the field of education.That the people shall know, for, knowledge is power. Computer Laboratory
Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e resource center, which provides access to e resources among other things.
Library
Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.
Canteen
The College campus has a spacious and well ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.
Seminar Rooms
The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state of the art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.

Placement Experience: From the 5th semester onwards the process of placements are going on at the sacredheart college of East campus.There are lots of companies taking part at the college for placements namely Infosys ,Southerland ,SBI company , Federal Bank etc.The college provides an average package of more than 300 .About 92 %of students are getting placements from the eastcampus.As compared to the main campus a high number of students are getting placed at Eastcampus.My plan after getting this degree is to pertain PG from this same college.
