Dharmsinh Desai University is one of the most prospering universities of Gujarat. It was founded in 1968 as a State University. It was set up by Shri Dharmsinh Dadubhai Desai. The main campus of the university is situated in Nadiad, Gujarat. Eligibility Criteria

For Ph.D. in Engineering / Pharmacy

• Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology / Pharmacy in a discipline related to the research proposal with First Class or Minimum 60% marks (CGPA=6.5 out of 10) or equivalent from a recognized Institute/University.

For Ph.D. in Applied Sciences

• Master’s Degree in a Physical Science/Social Science related with the research proposal with First Class or Minimum 60% marks (CGPA=6.5 out of 10) or equivalent from a recognized Institute/University.

For Ph.D. in Management

• Post Graduate two years full time UGC & AICTE recognized Degree i.e. M.B.A. or its equivalent AIU recognized Diploma in Business Management with First Class or Minimum 60% marks (CGPA=6.5 out of 10) or equivalent from an Institute recognized by AICTE/UGC & AIU.

Application Process

Eligible and Interested candidates can download the application form from university official website. Take a printout of the application form on A4 White Paper. Enter all required details in the form. Affix a latest passport size photo at the given space. Finally, Candidate have to submit the dully filled in application form along with below-mentioned all documents to the admission office on or before the last date.

• A demand draft of Rs. 1500/- in favor of D.D.University payable at Nadiad or photo copy of the cash payment receipt.
• Statement of Research Purpose in hard copy.
• Self attested true copy of all the mark sheet & degree certificates
• Migration Certificate (Original)
• Income Certificate (if application)
• Caste Certificate (For reserved category candidates)
• NOC Certificate (if employed)
• Aadhar Card
• 4 Latest passport size photographs

Selection Criteria

• The selection process includes a written test conducted by the university and followed by the Interview Process. At the time of interview, the doctoral candidates will be discussing their research interest area. The applicants qualified with a valid UGC/CSIR/JRF examination/SLET/GATE/GMAT/GRE/Teacher Fellowship holder shall be exempted from the test. 

Structure of the Entrance Test

Entrance Exam for PhD Program is divided in TWO sections (Total 150 marks)

Section-I

• It is Common & Compulsory for all the candidates.
• It is of 60 minutes duration & 50 marks.

Syllabus for this section touches in general:

• Research Methodology, Communication Skills, Research Design, Data Analysis, Samplings, Surveys, Classifications, Qualitative Research, Quantitative Techniques, Research Agencies, Associations & Causation Research o Publications & General Awareness. 

Section-II

• It is of 180 minutes duration & 100 marks.
• It is subject specific.

This paper will be divided in to two parts:

• First Part will be objective type: 25 Marks
• Second part will consist of: 75 Marks
