Jiwaji University PhD Admission 2024-25

Jiwaji University Gwalior came into existence on May 23, 1964, through M.P. Govt. Ordinance no. 15 of 1963. Late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, laid the foundation stone on 11th December 1964 at a sprawling campus of over 225 acres of land at Naulakha Parade ground. This was a generous contribution of Scindia family, in particular Kailashwasi Maharaja Shrimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia and late Rajmata Shrimati Vijayaraje Scindia. The institution was christened after the name of Kailashwasi Shrimant Jiwajirao Scindia as a standing memorial to his persona. The motto of the university is embedded in its logo Vidyaya Prapyate Tejah.

  • Law, Management, Economics, Commerce, Hindi, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Botany.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have passed master’s in the concerned subject with a high second class pass marks or 55% aggregate.
  • There is a 5% relaxation for those Candidates who belong to SC / ST / OBC / Physically Disabled categories of Madhya Pradesh.

Application Process

Eligible and Interested Candidates can apply by following the given steps:

  • Go to the MP Online portal and fill the application form. 
  • Or the candidates can go to the MPOnline kiosks and request the concerned kiosk handler for help in submitting the application form.
  • Application fee of Rs. 600/- is required to be paid through MP Online Portal.
  • A printout of the application form and Fee Payment receipt must be taken and kept for future reference.

Note: The application form can also be submitted in person to the Central Library, Jiwaji University.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test conducted by the university and followed by Personal Interview. Candidates who are UGC-NET or JRF qualified are exempted from appearing for the University entrance exam. These Candidates can directly appear for the interview along with their research proposals and below-mentioned documents.

Entrance Exam Pattern

The Candidates must score at least 50% in the University entrance examination to be called for the interview process. 

The entrance examination details are:

  • It is MCQ based with 100 questions.
  • Questions are based on knowledge of post graduation.
  • Candidates must attempt the compulsory paper of the concerned subject.
