Maharaja Surajmal Brij University was came into existence on 14 October 2012. That the young people will go forward not as prisoners of the past, who will be educated in this university, will develop in them a spirit of dedication, single-minded concentration , whether in science or humanities. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a relevant Master's degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade from a University, a deemed University or any other University incorporated under a law and recognized by University Grants Commission of India (UGC).
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their relevant Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
• Note- A candidate who has not completed Master’s Degree, is permitted to appear in the entrance test for the Ph.D. programme. However, such candidates shall be required to submit a certificate of passing the Master’s Degree along with the marks/grades obtained at the time of interview for admission into Ph.D. programme. 

Application Process

Candidates can register themselves through Offline mode on university official website. Candidates have to follow below-mentioned steps to apply offline-

• Download the application form form the website of the university
• Fill the application form with Black or Blue Ball Pen. 
• Enter all the details as inquired: Academic and personal details.
• Attach the relevant documents like photograph, signature, marksheets etc. 
• Pay the application fee through prescribed mode of payment and submit it.

• Marks Sheet and Experience Certificates
• Letter granting Teaching Fellowship (if any)
• Demand Draft
• UGC/ CSIR/ DST / GATE/ GPAT/ SLET qualifying certificate (if any)
• One Valid ID Proof

Selection Criteria

• Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test conducted by the university and followed by Personal Interview. Candidates who are UGC-NET or JRF qualified are exempted from appearing for the University entrance exam. These Candidates can directly appear for the interview along with their research proposals.
