University of Kalyani PhD Admission 2024-25

University of Kalyani or Kalyani University is a state university located in Nadia district of West Bengal. The university is ranked 86 among universities in India by the NIRF in 2018 and in the 101–150 band overall. It is providing academic guidance and leadership to 44 affiliated colleges (18 in Nadia, 25 in Murshidabad and 1 in North 24 Parganas). These Colleges are independent of the university but they follow the course curriculum of the university.

Eligibility Criteria

• All candidates (general category) intending to join M.Phil/ Ph.D programme of the University must obtain 55% (5% or as per policy of government from time to time to be relaxed for SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Challenged candidates) marks in the last qualifying examination (like M.A./M.Sc.) for being eligible to apply for M.Phil/ Ph.D admission to the University.

How to Apply

Kalyani University offers online applications for all the candidates through the official website. 

• Visit the Online Admission Portal of the university.
• A new page will appear where the candidate must click on the desired course.
• Click on the Application Form tab and fill the form online.
• Payment of Application fees will be done on the basis of SBI Collect.
• Candidates can check Application status and can also reprint receipt by clicking on the desired option on the same page. 

Along with the application form, the applicant for Admission cum Registration should submit the following:

• Attested copies of mark-sheets, certificates of post graduate degree
• The name of the subject in which the candidate desires to apply for the degree
• The proposed title of the thesis along with a summary of proposed work
• No objection certificate from the employer if the candidate is employed
• In addition to the documents mentioned above, foreign students must produce proper visa and the requisite clearance (both academic and otherwise) from the competent authorities at the time of Admission cum Registration.

Payment of application Fee

• Application fee is Rs. 400/- for General candidates & OBC candidates and Rs. 200 /- for SC / ST candidates. For differently able (PD) candidates Rs. 160/-

Admission Procedure

Admission to Ph.D. Programmes is done by Kalyani University Research Eligibility Test (KURET) / EEARP/ KURAT followed by Personal Interview conducted by the university. A candidate shall be exempted from appearing in the EEARP provided that he/she —

• has qualified in NET/SLET/SET/GATE /KURAT/KURET or any other National or State level test for pursuing teaching or research.
• was admitted through entrance test in M.Phil/M.Tech. course (other than five- year integrated M.Tech. course) and has obtained M.Phil/M.Tech. Degree from this University or from any other University/Institute recognized by this University
• is a whole time teacher of this University or any other University / Institute recognized by this University
• is a whole time teacher of Govt./Govt. aided College.
