ASBM University PhD Admission 2024-25

ASBM University was established in 2019. The university offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research level courses in different fields of Business, Accountancy, and Communication. Eligibility Criteria

  • A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D programme, if she/ he has a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC’s 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed), or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognised or authorised by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
  • Candidates possessing Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian institution or from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognised or authorised by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D programme.
  • A person, whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated in ASBM University and the viva voce is pending, may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the University.
  • A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently-abled and other reserved categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991.

Duration of the PhD Programme

  • The Ph.D. Programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years including course work, and a maximum of six years.
  • Extension may be allowed by the Vice-Chancellor to deserving candidates on case to case basis based on the recommendation of the School Research Committee (SRC) supported by suggestion of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for not more than one year (six months at a time) beyond the stipulated maximum duration of six years.
  • If a candidate fails to submit her/ his dissertation before the expiry of the sixth year, or the extended period, if any, the Ph.D. registration of such candidate shall lapse automatically.

Admission Procedure

A candidate desirous of pursuing Ph.D. programme under ASBM University shall apply in the prescribed format. Candidates have to follow below-mentioned steps to apply:

Online Mode

  • Visit the official website of ASBM University.
  • Click on "Apply Now" button.
  • A page will display asking for details like name, email and contact number to sign up.
  • After entering, click on the “Submit” button.
  • A verification email containing your login credentials will be sent to your email.
  • Now verify your email address by clicking the verification link and login using the credentials to fill the application form.
  • Lastly, pay the requisite application fee via online through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card and submit the form.

Offline Mode

  • Visit the official website of ASBM University.
  • Download the application form.
  • Fill all required details in the application form.
  • Once the form is filled completely, send the same to the university.

NOTE- Candidates can pay the application fee through Demand Draft or Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.

Candidates have to enclose following documents along with their applications:

  • Class 10th and 12th Marksheets and Certificate
  • Graduation Marksheets and Degree Certificate
  • Post-Graduation Marksheets and Degree Certificate
  • Scorecard of any National/Entrance Test
  • College Leaving Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates (if applicable)

Selection Procedure

Selection for admission shall be done through a two-stage process, viz.,

  • Written entrance test called ASBM Research Aptitude Test (ASBM-RAT)
  • Interview/ Viva-voce

Candidates who have a valid score in any of the following exams UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SET/SLET/GATE or Teacher Fellowship holder are exempted from ASBM Research Aptitude Test.
