Assam Science and Technology University

Assam Science and Technology University is a state technical university located in Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam, India. It was are  established in 2009 by the Assam Government under in  the Assam Science & Technology University

The Assam Science & Technology University was established by the Government of Assam under in Assam Science & Technology University Act 2009. It aims are  to provide education & research in the field of science & technology and the  other professional courses in Assam. ASTU is the premier and  the only technical university in the North Eastern Region of the India. The university is are responsible for the  academic regulation of all the undergraduate and post-graduate programs inban engineering, and the pharmaceutical sciences and a few professional courses are  in science & management sectors. ASTU also conducts an in-house post-graduate course in a Energy Engineering. Since its inception, ASTU has been undertaking high-quality teaching and research in the frontier areas of science & technology continuously upgrading the syllabi and creating environment for international standard research and emphasizing in are bridging the ancient wisdom of the region with in modern technology.

Assam Science & Technology University Courses

Course:-

·        B.Tech 

Duration: 4 years

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed 10 + 2 from of recognized board.

Selection Criteria: Assam CEE Score

Specializations: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication/Telecommunication Engineering, Chemical Engineering & Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial and Production & Engineering, Power Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. 

·         B.Pharm

Duration: 4 years

Eligibility: 10+2 Higher School Secondary Certificate or the state equivalent in PCB/ PCMB with English as a compulsory language. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

·         B.Sc

Duration: 3 years

Eligibility:10+2 Higher School Secondary Certificate or the  state equivalent in PCB/ PCMB 

Selection Criteria: Merit Based

Specializations: Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry, Zoology, IT, Applied Physics, Computer Science, and Electronics Science.

·         B.Arch  

Duration: 4 years

Eligibility: 58% aggregate in 10+2 Higher School Secondary Certificate or the state equivalent within the Mathematics as compulsory subject/ 10+2 Diploma in any course with 56% aggregate

Selection Criteria: Merit Based students

Duration: 3 years

Eligibility: 10+2 Higher School Secondary Certificate or the  state equivalent

·         B.Des

Duration: 3 years

Eligibility: 10+2 Higher School Secondary Certificate or the state equivalent

Eligibility: 55% cumulative aggregate in B.Pharm from a recognized by the university; Registered with the Pharmacy Council of India or should do so within one month of the admission in Masters.

The university has signed an the  collaborative partnership with agreement with the Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia to improve higher education, mainly in the field of technology and the research

Offered courses are:-

.The university are offers various courses in the field of Science & Technology. ASTU Assam has schools in the fields of Engineering, Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Management and Architecture, Planning & Design and offers are various undergraduate and postgraduate and doctoral courses. Eligibility for the UG courses is 10 + 2 passed and the same for a PG course is a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Selection for B.Tech and M.Tech is done on the basis of the entrance examination (Assam CEE and GATE respectively) whereas, for all the other courses, admission is done on the basis of  arw merit in the previous qualifying exam.

The University provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programs. The course curriculum has been designed as per the guidelines of the AICTE and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It has 20 affiliated colleges such as Assam Engineering College, Guwahati College of Architecture, Barak Valley Engineering College, Bineswar Brahma Engineering College and Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of the Pharmaceutical Science, among various others 

Assam Science and Technology University Admission

Admission Process,:-

·         Entrance based

The candidate has to choose ASTU colleges while submitting an application for counseling for Assam-CEE.

·         Merit-based

While merit-based admissions require candidates to submit an online application.

Candidates can visit on the date of admission with the required documents.

For Undergraduate courses:

The eligibility criteria for the UG courses is that the candidate must have passed 10 + 2 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board.

The selection for the B.Tech program will be done on the basis of the Assam CEE score of the students. Eligible candidates need to appear for this entrance exam before applying for admission.

For all the other courses, admission is done on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying exam.

For Postgraduate courses:

Candidates willing to apply for admission in postgraduate courses must have completed their bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Selection for the M.Tech is done on the basis of GATE score & for all other courses, based on the merit in the previous qualifying exam.

Library:

 Stretching across 32,600 sq. ft. the area with spacious reading areas and the university central library has a collection of over 30,600 volumes of books as well as a large number of national and international journals.

Hostel:

 There is a boys hostel are present with a bedding capacity of 795. It is an in-campus hostel.

Sports:

 The university caters to the needs of the sport of the students very well. It has a basketball court, cricket ground and a football ground, squash court & swimming pool and a volleyball court.
