Diploma in Library and Information is Diploma level  programs. The student will be able to utilize acquired knowledge, attitude, competences & practical skills in the acquisition, organization & dissemination of information resources after completion the program. The eligibility to opt for this program is obtaining at least 50 percentage marks in 10+2 board or equivalent level examination from any recognised board or University. Some institutes have their own entrance Examination which must be cleared if one wishes to enroll in Diploma in Library & Information Science program.

The fee structure ranges between INR 2,750 to INR 53,000 depending upon the college & institute

This program is designed to prepare the student to work in a library in a school or college , in the government or private sector. There are other option available as a consultant or research assistants.

Diploma in Library and Information (D.LIB.): Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have passed the 12^th  or equivalent level examination with at least 50 % of the marks from a recognised state or central board (relaxable for reserved category applicants).

Student should not have any backlogs; before entering the diploma course, they should clear all the subjects.

The entrance test is a mandatory examination for any candidate who wishes to apply for the program.

In the entry test, student should earn minimum mark.

For reserved category candidates, they will have to display their reservation certificate issued by qualified authorities.

Admissions to Diploma in Library and Information (D.LIB.) course are largely based on a merit-based criterion with a select few institutes/colleges going for admissions based on Entrance Examination.
