Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit & Ancient Studies University is a state government university in Nalbari, Assam, India for studies in Sanskrit language and history of Kamarupa besides other general studies including art, humanities and professional courses. It was founded in 2011. The university is named after the king Bhaskar Varman of ancient Kamrup. The University Postgraduate and M.Phil courses in Tantric and Shakti cult, Buddhist philosophy, nature/environment worship, Gandhian studies, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

• Post graduate degree from any recognized University in the relevant subject. 
• Obtaining 55% of marks or equivalent grade in the relevant subject. 
• For SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and PWD (with percentage of disability being equal to or more than 40%) minimum marks required is 50%.

Duration of the Programme- 1 year (2 Semesters)

• Obtain the application form directly from the university office by paying through University Challan.
• Candidates can also obtain the form by depositing the bank draft of the requisite amount drawn in favour of “Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University”, payable at Nalbari.
• Applicants may send a request by post for admission form accompanied by a self-addressed envelope of 25 cm X 30 cm size with postage stamp of Rs. 40 along with the Bank Draft of the requisite demand.
• The application form can also be downloaded from the official website of University to be submitted along with University Challan.

Selection Process

Admission is done on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examination and in entrance test conducted by university. Candidates are also required to appear in an interview at the time of admission. Candidates must bring all original documents at the time of Interview for verification process.
