RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNOLOGIES 

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technology campus at RK Valley, Andhra Pradesh was established in the 2008. RGUKT is an autonomous university, set by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and is recognized by the UGC. It offers an integrated BTech program in the 7 disciplines, MTech & PhD courses which are full-time, residential programs. Admissions to these courses are based on RGUKT CET and other Entrance examination scores. RGUKT has three other campuses at – Nuzvid, Srikakulam and Ongole. 

Many rural households tend to be poor and many of the factors of the daily living that we take for granted are not always known, such as the using a sit-down toilet as opposed to a squatting toilet and significant additional personal education will be needed to the facilitate the integration into the larger community.

RGUKT, Nuzvid Rankings or Achievements:

·        RGUKT stood under the rank band of the 151-200, according to the ‘National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) during the year 2017.

·         Numerous awards won by students at national and international platforms.

·         The candidates of RGUKT have been participating and winning several prizes in the NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest conducted by the International Space Development Conference (ISDC)

Following are some of the facilities offered by the RGUKT: 

·         Classrooms: Smart digital classrooms with latest technology, to facilitate easy learning and understanding.

·         Laptop: Every student is provided with a laptop, without additional any costs from the first year.

·         Internet: Free Wi-Fi facility is provided throughout the campus.

·         Library: The campus also has a large library with a seating capacity of 3000 people. It has a vast collection of books in both digital and offline format. The library remains open for the 24 hours.

·         Sports: Facilities for gym and indoor games are made available. The campus also has volleyball and basketball courts.

·         Hostel: As RGUKT is a residential university, opting for an in-campus hostel is mandatory. Hostel facilities are provided for both girls and boys with spacious rooms with double, triple or four beds and mattresses, pillows, covers, sheets etc. are provided. Basic amenities like as fan, desk, and cupboard are made available in every room.

RGUKT, Nuzvid Faculty:

RGUKT consists of the 100+ faculty members, out of which 13 hold PhD in their respective subjects. The staff is experienced and highly qualified from reputed universities. Prof H Sudarsana Rao is the Dean or Principal of RGUKT, RK Valley. The university consists of 18 departments, having – Head of Department, Professors and Associate professors. 

RGUKT, Nuzvid Admissions:

RGUKT admits 1000 candidates every year for the integrated B.Tech course, out of which 85% of total available seats shall be reserved for the ‘local candidates’ (Andhra Pradesh) and the remaining 15% of the seats are open to the students of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. 

How to Apply? 

Candidates who wish to apply to the integrated six year BTech program, may follow the given steps: 

·         Apply for the RGUK CET exams

·         Appear for the OMR-based offline exam (Duration – two hours)

·         Result to be published (Scores converted to the GPA)

·         Merit Rank list released at the official website

·         Selected students called for counseling, along with required documents

·         Counseling and Certificate verification

·         Final Selection

For admission to PhD courses : 

The selection process includes a written test and an interview. Applicants are admitted to the course of the following nature : 

·         University scholarship

·         Self-supporting (no scholarship)

·         Sponsored (no scholarship) 

RGUKT, Nuzvid Scholarships:

RGUKT offers scholarships, sponsored by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh to all students, including ones belonging to the reservation category and minorities. The scholarship includes the course fees and hostel fees. The Govt. offers partial or full reimbursement to the eligible students. Non SC/ST students’ having annual parent income less than Rs. 1 Lac & SC/ST candidates with the annual parent income below Rs. 2 Lac are eligible for the reimbursement of fee, subject to fulfilling other conditions set by the Govt. Besides, a financial assistance scheme is available for candidates from pre-final & final years.

Academics:

The institute offers six-year Bachelor of Technology after 10^th class examinations which includes two years of pre-university course equivalent to the intermediate degree followed by four-year degree course in engineering course. It also offers postgraduate Master of Technology courses.

To impart to each candidate broad skills of Learning to Learn, Learning to Think and Learning to Live. To reinforce core values of integrity, respect for all, and care for the environment. 

Health and Safety:

RGUKT provides its candidate and staff all the necessary medical facilities. A medical center with the required facilities is under construction and is anticipated to be operational soon. The center will have the 30 beds and 3 doctors.
