Hari Prasad Sah College, Nirmali, formerly known as Nirmali College Nirmali is going to celebrate its golden Jubilee Anniversary on 10th August, 2014 on the grand completion of 50 years of establishment. Right from the inception to the present day it has stood as a beacon light of higher education in the prevailing educational darkness of the vast koshi-affected region of Supaul and Madhubani districts of Bihar. It has proved the justification of its existence and provided a ray of hope to the poor and diligent sections of the society who can not afford to go to cities for college education. The college is proud of its glorious record of producing hundreds of luminaries joining top administrative, enginerring, medical, managerial and such other services.

For a glimpse of the brief history of the college let us begin with our reverential homage to Late Rameshwar lal Das, Late Ratanlal Singhi, Late Ghanshyam Das pansari, Late Gunand Thakur and Late Hari Prasad Sharma who, first of all, materialised the hopes and aspirations of the people of the area by formally founding the college in the name of Nirmali College, Nirmali on 10th August, 1964. with Ghanshyam Das pansari as the first president and Ratanlal Singhi as the first Secretary of the governing body and three teachers namely Jay Govind Jha, Zahiruddin Anmad and Dhirendra Prasad Singh the college, began its first session. Sri Ram Sevak Singh joined as principal of the college on 26th January, 1965. Bhagalpur University granted affiliation to the college in Arts up to degree level on 01 june 1965. Late Gunanand Thakur, Late Baba Nandlal Das, Late Md. Jaan Saheb, Late Prof. Baidyanath Mehta and Late Hariballav Narayan Singh had their immense contribution to the stability and enrichment of the college. Affiliation for Science teaching up to Inter level and degree level was awarded in 1972 and 1977 respectively.
