The Govt. of Haryana is committed to the development and welfare of the people. It is continuously striving to find new and innovative avenues which can act as catalyst for overall development of the state.As a part of this endeavour, the state government has introduce newer disciplines in the field of education for young and aspiring students of our nation, and Haryana in particular. For nurturing of this initiative, a unique autonomous campus is setup for programmes in Design, Film & TV, Fine Arts and Urban Planning & Architecture by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Haryana.An integral part of the campus is the State Institute of Fashion Design (SIFD).The institute follows a semester system and a given academic year has two semesters. The monsoon semester stretches from July to December and the winter semester from January to May. Each semester spreads through 18 to 20 weeks with an academic load of appx. 700 hours, inclusive of direct classroom teaching, outdoor assignments, library, self-study, jury and other engagements.Teaching is imparted from Monday to Friday. However, the student is expected to work on given assignments during the weekends.The institute follows the holiday’s calendar, as declared by the government of Haryana.The timings of the institute are from 9 to 5 pm.
