North Gauhati College is situated at North Guwahati, a place endowed with scenic natural beauty. The college campus spreads over a large area covering 33 bighas of land with a pisciculture tank on the side of the main academic building. Away from the din and bustle of city environment, the college being located in a rural environment surrounded by lush green vegetation offers education in a pollution free homely atmosphere. The college, the alma-mater of a large section of people in the northern bank of the river Brahmaputra in the undivided Kamrup district, is one the few institutes’ of higher learning in the state that has completed 50 years of glorious existence. The College can proudly mention that it has gone through the accreditation process conducted by NAAC twice, securing B Grade both in 2004 and in the recent accreditation held on November, 2015.
