Kisan College , an old Constituent Unit of Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya, was founded with a vision to restore the glory of ancient Nalanda which was the seat of learning. Students come from different parts of the State and far-flung places to receive the light of knowledge.

The college came into existence under the able leadership of Late Ramji Prasad and honorable Principal Late Ram Baran Sinha. A few philanthropists joined together to found a centre of higher studies in the northern part of Biharsarif. Late Ramji Prasad, was a man of Gandhian thought and revered person of all sections of the society. A governing body of the proposed Kisan College , Sohsarai was constituted in 1957. The very name of the college “Kisan” shows the culture and ideals of this institution. The college by virtue of its merit achieved the stature of a constituent unit of Magadh University , Bodh-Gaya in the year 1975. The college occupies a distinguished place in the field of Higher Education in Bihar . The college in its journey of more than fifty years has recorded a glorious achievements in every field of Higher Education.

It has brought glory in Computer Science also. The college has been catering to the needs and aspirations of the vast number of students of the rural areas. It is the only college which started BCA teaching in this ancient seat of learning (Nalanda) way back in 1999.

The college is commited to maintain an environment that encourages a spirit of creativity and deep commitment to academic excellence with good infrastructure.
