Gobindgarh College of Education, (Alour), Tehsil Khanna Distt-Ludhiana, is one of the fourth institutes being run by Gobindgarh Educational & Social Welfare Trust, Mandi Gobindgarh. This Trust is represented by educationalists, industrialists, administrators, Philianthropists, Entrepreneurs and Engineers who are men of missionary zeal and devoted humanitarians. These multi-faceted personalities strive for 'Excellence through effort' to pay back to society in general and to serve the people of the Steel-Town and its surrounding areas in particular, since 1 977. In 2003 the Trust approached the Panjab State Govt. and Panjab University, Chandigarh with a proposal to start a College of Education to render enviable service in the field of education. After getting N.O.C. and recommendation of the Panjab University, Chandigarh, the Trust approached National Council for Teacher's Education, Jaipur for the approval. It was approved by N.C.T.E. vide its order No. F.NRC/NCTE/F-3/Pb- 208/ 1998 dated 26 May, 2005 and has been affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. Long cherished dream of the Trust was fulfilled when it was approved by N.C.T.E. and Panjab University, Chandigarh. On Nov 1 9, 2003. Gobindgarh College of Education's foundation stone was laid by Hon'ble Dr. Paramjit Singh, the Registrar Panjab University, Chandigarh. The new campus building of Gobindgarh College of Education(Alour), came into being and was inaugurated by Hon'ble Deputy Speaker Lok Sabha S.Charanjit Singh Atwal on Nov 28, 2004. The Trust invokes the blessings of the Almighty for the success of the new Institute.
