The dawn of the education awareness in Higher Education ushered in the horizon of Kodala, a cultured & beautiful area in the District of Ganjam by swearing the opening of the college in the name of Kodala Co11ege, Kodala by showing the provision of Higher Secondary Arts & Commerce rn 1984 and Science in 1990. The college was inaugurated on 4th uly 1984 and at the Swarnamayee High School, Kodala, by Sri Prafulla Kumar Rath, the emlnent educationist. The college name was changed in he name of late Laxminarayan Patro, the father of the donor of the college late Sri P. Bhimasen Patro, in the year 1990-91 vide Govt. order No. 15511/EYS, Dated 27/04/7990 and its own building started to impart teaching to students and function of offi-ce works.

Now it is running its 28th eventful year of 1lfe by the sufficingHigher educational needs in the N.A.C. area and the area nearby.

During 1987-88 & 1990-91 the college received concurrence for Arts & Commerce and Science stream respectively from the Govt. of Odisha and affiliation from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, to open Higher Secondary course in Arts with 128 seats each in History, Political Science, Economics and Odia & 64 seats in Education, 64 seats in Commerce steasms and 64 seats 1n Science streams with Physics,Chemistry. Biology and Mathematics. The Information Technology subject was recognised by the Govt. of Odisha in the year 2007-08 with 32 seats in Arts & Science Streams each and 16 seats in Commerce stream with affiliated by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha.The all round development of the coflege ls the be all and end all of thestudents, staff and the local people.

Theme of our college is to "open the worl-d of knowledge for our dear students and to provide all possible access to achieve success".

Established in 1984, this co1lege has been catering knowledge  wisdom,spreading the light of education and opening the path to success bydeveloping personality of our dearest students. This college isearmarked by the Deptt. of Higher Education, Odisha, as a SAMS Resource Centre (SRC) from the current academic year 2011-12 for e-admi-ssior, e scholarship, online form fill up, etc.
