The District of Nawada in Bihar is surrounded by many historical and religious places like Pawapuri, Nalanda, Rajgir, Gaya and Bodh- Gaya. Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya was established in the year of 1988 at the district headquarter of Nawada for imparting high standard law education to fulfill the desire of entire Magadh region. Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya is well equipped for the teaching of traditional and modern law courses of LL.B. standard prescribed by the Magadh University. Bodh- Gaya. The Bar Council of India New Delhi has given recognition to this college.
Way back in history, the Mahavidyalaya came into existence by the active enthusiasm of the present Principal Dr. D.N. Mishra, M. Com., M.A. (Econ.), LL.M. (Utkal), Ph.D. His active superintendence, careful planning and matchless enterprises are matters to be remembered forever in connection with the development of the College. Spontaneous Co- operation came during the establishment by various walks of people such as Shri Srinandan Sharma, Ex- Principal, Gandhi Inter School, Nawada, Sri N.K. Sharma, Advocate, Shri B.N. Singh, the then District and Session Judge, Nawada Shri Faiz Akram, I.A.S., Shri Satyanarayan Pradhan, I.A.S., Shri Surendra Prasad, the then L.R.D.C., Nawada, Md. A. Haque, the then C.O. Shri P.K. Dixit, Public Prosecutor, Shri Prem Chandra Ram, the then M.P. Late Kishna Prasad, the then M.L.A. and all others the then M.L.A. of Nawada District.
Dr. Y.K. Mishra, Professor & Head, Deptt. of A.I. & A.S., Magadh University, Bodh -Gaya, Dr. D.N. Mishra and Shri A.K. Suraj have been respectively the founder President, Secretary and Treasurer of this Mahavidalaya. Shri Janardan Pradad, Advocate, founder member has been the Vice- Principal of this Mahavidyalaya. His active participation during acquisition of new premises in 1999 is noteworthy. The Mahavidyalaya had the privilege of receiving much needed encouragement and help from Professor K.B. Sahay, the then Pro-Vice chancellor of Magadh University, Bodh- Gaya Dr. Man Mohan Prasad, the then Professor & Head of Commerce at Gaya College, Gaya and prof. Amin Ahmed the then Addl Controller of Exam of M.U. Bodh- Gaya .
The Mahavidyalaya had also the pleasure of company of Shri Ramchandra Jha, Senior Advocate at Patna High Court, Patna, who had constantly extended his cooperation and bestowed his blessings to the Mahavidyalaya since its beginning till 16.04.2004, when he unexpectedly died. His moral message and good wishes for the development of this institution will be remembered forever. This Mahavidyalaya is also much indebted to Mr. B.S. Bhasin, Ex- Pro- V.C. of M.U. Bodh Gaya, Mr. Abhimanyu Singh, Ex- V.C. of M.U. Bodh Gaya and Prof. Ramadhar Singh, Retd. Reader cum Dean of Law at A.M. College, Gaya for giving a helping hand during the first step to the start of 5- year LL.B. courses in this college. The Mahavidyalaya is thankful to Mr. Ramavatar Singh, Retd. Prof-in charge, A.M. Law College, Gaya for his kind Co- operation on various occasions. The Mahavidyalaya also feels privileged in associating itself with professor Surendra Nath, Former Head and Dean, Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University and a renounced Law teacher, in Connection with the LL.B. 5- year Course; for his guidance and assistance rendered to the Mahavidyalaya at present in the capacity of Honorary Director has been of immense value. The Mahavidyalaya is also much indebted to present V.C. Professor Shamsad Hussain, Shri Suraj Narayan Pd. Sinha , Senior Advocate cum Member Bar Council of India, New Delhi, Shri Baleshwar Sharma, Advocate cum Vice- Chairman, Shri Prem Kumar Jha, Advocate and member, Shri D.N.P. Yadav, Advocate and senior member, all of State Bar council, Patna Dr. B.N. Pandey, Dean, Faculty of Science, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya and Dr. Vinay Kumar Singh, founder member and Secretary, Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya and Presently Chairman of Nawada Educational and Cultural Development Society.
