Udayanath College of Science and Technology, At/Po- Prachi Jnanapitha, Adaspur, Dist- Cuttack was started with a strong determination in the year 1987 at the intermediate / Higher Secondary level to impart education in Science, Arts and Commerce, The college is 30 kms away from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. It is at the apex of the triangle, Cuttack – Bhubaneswar being the base line.
The first batch of degree students appeared in 1994 under the Utkal University. This citadel of learning situated on the sacred river-bed of Prachi was thus christened as Prachi Jnanapitha. The aim of this higher institution was to cater quality and value based education. It is a rural area nontheless all the attempts have been to convert the institution into a serious centre of higher learning and thus aiming at a centre of excellence in rural area. It was not an easy task, but for the avowed determination, tireless efforts of the faculty members, management and those who are connected with the minutest details of the growth of the infrastructure, environment and greenery art of the state stadium and world class gymnasium. The college is growing from a tiny sapling to an all encompassing large tree of learning and aesthetics coolness.
Twenty-seven years have elapsed in the mean time. The college has travelled steps of confidence and wisdom. The U.G.C. has conferred the status of ‘Autonomy’. The youngest rural general college of the state, also the largest rural degree and postgraduate college, U.N. Autonomous College has yet miles to go. We have a vision to convert this autonomous college into a rural unitary university. No good effort with clear vision and Noble thought and commitment ever goes unrewarded.
