Shalom Bible College is situated at Vadavathoor, Kottayam, in the ‘God’s own country’ – Kerala, in the Christian Heartland of India. Kottayam has achieved national reputation as the first District in India that gained 100% literacy. It is well known in the tourism globe as the “Land of Letters, Lakes and Latexâ€. Vadavathoor, Kottayam is a place where God by mighty move of the Holy Spirit brought many to the full Gospel Truths.
Pastor P.M. Philip was a man of God, that the Holy Spirit used mightily as God’s instrument in the establishment of Pentecostal work in Kottayam District and its surrounding areas. In addition to what God accomplished in the rest of India through this instrument in God’s hand, in 1956 he started Shalom Bible School in order to train Christ like servant leaders and pioneer evangelists for the cause of the gospel in India.
Pastors T. G. Oommen, T. P. Varghese, P. K. Chacko, V. M .Chacko, K. C. Philip, C. V. Philipose, Mathew Samuel, Bro. V. M. Thomas and Mrs. Saramma Philip and many others have been of great support to Pastor P. M. Philip in the formative years of this institution. In 2000 November, when Pastor P.M. Philip was called Home, his sons Dr. Mathew Finny and Pastor Easaw Philip took over the administration of the Institution.
