Punjab Para Medical Science run by D.L.H& E.S was Registered by Govt. of India vide Registration No. 760 of 2003-2004 .PPMS was founded to assure & promote quality in the Para Medical Course in order to develop and maintain uniformity regarding Para Medical Course standard by the bye laws of the PPMS. The PPMS conduct examination, issue guidelines, prepare syllabus, declare result, design & introduce different Para Medical Courses, Affiliation Institutes, Provide diploma certificate and registration to pass out candidates.

Punjab Para medical Science registers qualified paramedics or colleges autonomously without any Governmental or non-Governmental association. There is no Act to regulate the hiring or functioning of paramedics, whether in the city or country. There is no way of ascertaining the work record or conduct of a particular paramedic,” the official noted. Punjab Para medical Science will accredit operation theatre technicians, operation theatre assistants, Physiotherapy Technician , laboratory technicians, laboratory assistants, X-Ray technicians, ECG technicians, darkroom assistants and Central Sterilization Department assistants. All institutions will have to register with the PPMS that will issue certificates only after professionals have worked for fixed period. Punjab Para medical Science has separate guidelines and regulations issued with the acceptance of all the active members of the governing body of the PPMS. Punjab Para medical Science registers qualified personnel and Colleges/ University for paramedical sciences for world-class training and future practice of the profession. With the limited number of available trained paramedics Punjab Para medical Science aims to minimize the death with qualified and trained personnel and compensate the shortage.
