Sree Narayana Trusts Medical Mission was established in 1970 to extend relief to the poor by entering medical profession and under the Trusts is the Sankar Shashtyabdapoorthi Memorial Hospital, Kollam & Sankar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (SIMS). It is a super specialty hospital with the inpatient bed strength of 470.V.N.S.S College of Nursing was established in 2004, with the 8th batch of BSc Nursing with intake of 60 students and third batch MSc nursing with intake of 23 per year and first batch of Post Basic BSc Nursing with intake of 30 per year. The beginning of Post Basic BSc Nursing during the year 2011- 2012 earmarks in the history of the College of Nursing. Our College of Nursing is affiliated to University of Kerala for two batches of BSc nursing and recent of two batches are affiliated under the Kerala University of Health Sciences. Good academic standards are maintained by our College which is academic excellence and our college being selected as the best college in the Kollam District.Sree Narayana Trusts Medical Mission’s spiritual ideals and motivation reflect Sree Narayana Guru’s preachings which permeates to all levels of activities of Sree Narayana Trusts Medical Mission of which college of Nursing is a part.
