Late Shri. V.T. Patil, the President of Tararani Vidyapeeth, is the founding father of Shivraj College of Arts & Commerce. The objectives before him were o provide higher educational facilities to the educationally backward areas of Gadhinglaj, Ajara and Chandgad. Our college was inaugurated at the hands of Balasaheb Desai the then Minister of Education, the Government of Maharashtra in Maharani Radhabai High school, Gadhinglaj on June, 26 th 1964.
In 1967 Shri. V. T. Patil and Dr. S. S. Ghali approached the concerned farmers and appealed them to give away their land for the academic infrastructure. The concerned farmers agreed to transfer their land to Shivraj College with just a token amount. Their solemn sacrifice is beyond the level of verbal expression.
