   J. K. K. NATTRAJA COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE, is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem-11. This institution is managed by J.K.K. Rangammal Charitable Trust, Kumarapalayam. It was founded in the year 1974 and had grown in strength year after year. The institution aims at helping the poor students from the mofussil areas.

     The College is situated away from the buzzle of the town and it functions in a pucca building which can accommodate more than 2000 students.

     The Institution offers Eleven undergraduate courses viz, B.A. (English Literature, History), B.Sc. (Maths, Chemistry, Computer Science, Zoology, Physics, Textile & Fashion Designing), B.Com., B.Com.(C.A.,), B.C.A., B.B.A., At the Post-Graduate level, the College offers Nine Courses viz, M.A. (History, English), M.Sc. (Maths, Chemistry, Computer Science, Zoology), M.Com., M.Com.(C.A.) and MCA.

     The Departments of Zoology, History, Tamil, English, Commerce and Computer Science are recognized Research departments for conducting Research Programmes. Department of Computer Science offers M.Phil.,(FT). Department of Zoology offers M.Phil., (PT/FT) and Ph.D.(PT) courses. Department of History offers M.Phil.,(FT) course and Department of Tamil offers Ph.D.(PT) course. The Departments of English and Commerce offers Ph.D., (PT) .
