The MR. Omayal Achi MR. Arunachalam Trust was established in 1976. The foremost priority of the Trust was to impart subsidized quality education and to provide the rural poor with free essential health requirements. The Trustees strongly felt that excellent educational and health facilities in the villages were vital for a developing country like ours.
The entire corpus of the Trust is the wealth of Omayal Achi and her son Arunachalam who tragically died in an air crash. The Trustees who manage this organization are the kin of the deceased. They spare no effort in ensuring that every rupee of their beloved relatives is spent to promote a worthy cause.
In furtherance of its objectives in providing excellent education to help create exemplary Nurses students the Trust established the Omayal Achi College of Nursing in 1992, The College of Nursing is designed to meet the ever growing need for qualified Nurses in the country, where at present the number of trained nursing personnel is woefully inadequate. This college helps to meet the shortage of qualified and specialized nurses by offering various degree courses.
