Vasanta College for Women is one of the oldest college of Varanasi (Estd. 1913), admitted to the Privileges of Banaras Hindu University and runs under the aegis of Krishnamurti Foundation India, a world renowned foundation devoted to the cause of education. The college is recognized by UGC under Section 12B & 2(f) of UGC ACT 1956. College offers 3 years B.A. (Hons) courses in Arts and Social Sciences, 3 years B. Com (Hons) course and  2 years B. Ed & M.Ed courses in Education. It also offers 2 years M.A. in six subjects (English, Hindi, Economics, Psychology, Geography & History).  The college runs 12 buses all over the city for the convenience of staff and students. There is a hostel on campus called Vasanta Ashram (I, II & III) with accommodation for 221 girls coming from other towns in India.
