The graduate school college for women came up in 1971 with ten student. Today we are a constituent unit of kolhan university dealing with about eight thousand student. We cater to the urban and semi urban education requirements in and around the steel city of Jamshedpur in the state of Jharkhand. The college believes that excellence is an attribute to be aspired for in order to keep abreast of all literary and scientific achievements as knowledge is synonymous with power in the current era.

The institution aimed at offering a diversified field of knowledge to girls student in order to enable them to acquire a mentally, physically and spiritually balanced wholesome personality. According the college started graduation level courses in art and commerce followed by branches of science. The initiation happens to be the first women’s college to offer commerce at the graduation level in the whole of undivided Bihar since 1971.

The college teaches honors degree course in art, commerce and science subjects including statistics, later the college started B.ed course in 2005 with the approval of NCTE Bhubaneswar. Vocational courses on self financing basis were started as b com vocational degree and b.sc. Vocational degree courses. Computer application Skill development certificate courses in collaboration with Tata institute of social sciences membai have been initiated recently. As per the demand of student the university has given permission to conduct post graduation programmers in some subject since 2011
