Agricultural College, Mahanandi is situated in the natural habitat opposite to Nallamala forest range abode of Lord Mahanandiswara, in Kurnool District. Initially, the college was established on 18th August 1991 at cotton research laboratory building in the premises of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal, Kurnool (Dist). Later the college was shifted to new building in MC Farm, Mahanandi on 9th February 1996

Since the inception of the College in 1991 four years B.Sc. (Ag) the degree program was started, the intake of students was increased to 70 per year. Post graduate program was initiated in 4 disciplines, i.e., Agronomy, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology and Soil Science during the academic year 2010-11and permission was given to start in Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, and Entomology during 2012-13.
