Rao Mohar Singh College of Education, Behrampur, Gurgaon was established in 1974 due to persistent efforts made by Rao Mahavir Singh as a tribute to his father Rao Mohar Singh, ‘The Grand Old Man of Ahirwal’. The main aim behind the establishment of this institution was to provide a platform for professional education to the educationally backward regions of Ahirwal & Mewat. The college had a modest beginning in rented premises at Hailey Mandi, Jatauli, Gurgaon. With a determination to face all odds, the founder President Rao Mahavir singh Ji donated his ancestral land in Behrampur to the college. The college was successfully shifted to the Corporate Capital of India at Behrampur, Sector-74, (near Hero Honda Chowk), Gurgaon in the year 1976. This college was revived with a new spark by the efforts made by Shri Narbir Singh, son of Rao Mahavir Singh in 2006. The college has a well planned and beautifully landscaped campus of 4 acres covered with green turfs and a variety of evergreen plants. With the view to provide the students with an excellent environment for learning, a most artistic and functional college building with a colorful ambience has been constructed in the campus.
The governing body of the institution is the Board of Rao Mohar Singh College of Education. The board maintains responsibility for financial and policy matters and delegates the routine aspects of daily working to the Principal, advised by Academic cell, Board of Cultural Activities, Training and Placement Cell, Literary Club, Sports Club and other key departments.
