Govt. college of Nursing, Thrissur started functioning in the Medical College campus in December 2006, College shifted to the partly completed college building on 06.09.2011. As per the G.O (MS) No: 230/06/H & FW dated. 28.10.2006, sanction was accorded by Govt. of Kerala for starting the college with an intake of 60 students in each academic year.The college is approved by Indian Nursing Council as per order No. 18-16/3602 – INC dated.26.10.2007 and by Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council as per order no. 6265/06/NC dated 26.12.2006. The college initially affiliated to the University of Calicut as per Order No.1/02/10257/06 dated.20.12.2006, up to 2009-10 admissions. From 2010-11 admissions onwards the college is affiliated to the Kerala university of health Sciences, Thrissur as per order No. 393/AC-101/2010/kuhas dated. 17.03.2011.
