The college has come a long way from a humble beginning to become an important institution of higher education in the state. Tezpur College, which initially was one stream college of Arts only, now has commerce stream as well fulfilling a long-pending demand since 2007. A college that has completed fifty glorious years in 2015 in imparting and expansion of higher education in the area has a long and distinguished past. The alumni of the college are well placed in various fields in different locations in the country as well as overseas. These distinguished and decorated alumni are the jewels of the college. The institution which has completed two cycles of NAAC peer team visits is preparing to complete the third cycle very shortly.
