Sashibhusan Rath Government Autonomous Women’s College, Berhampur is one of the major educational institutions of South Odisha dedicated to the cause of education with strength of about 3000. The college came into being on 7th July 1958 affiliated to Utkal University. Firstly it was named as Government Women’s College Berhampur and offered Intermediate courses. Undergraduate courses were introduced in Arts, Science and Commerce started in the year 1960, 1981 and 2013 respectively. The college was affiliated to the Berhampur University in 1967 and now it is affiliated to the Khallikote Cluster University as a constituent Autonomous College. Government of Odisha has renamed the institution as Sasi Bhusan Rath Government Women’s College in the year 1998 in the name of the great journalist, writer, social reformer and distinguished personality of South Odisha, late Sri Sasibhusan Rath.
