PROFILE OF ABDUL JABBAR COLLEGE *** Historical Background: Abdul Jabbar College is one of the best colleges in Bhola district. It is the First College in Borhanuddin Upazila. The college has a long historical background. The college was founded by ``KUTUBA WAQF STATE" which was established by Late Abdul Jabbar Mia. Among other renown Persons of state Mr Reza-E- Karim Chowdhury Chunu Mia, The activist of Language movement, former MCA and Upazilla Chairman was one of the pioneer founder of the College. He Served as a mentor till his death in Policy making of the college. The waqf state donated 40 acres land and Two lae Taka for functioning Primary Purposes of the College. The College Compound Comprises Ten (10) acres of land. The College was established in 1972 after the glorious achievement of independence to materialise the dream of Liberation war through spreading education in this locality. Now it has got reputation as a light house of knowledge among the local people. Sufi Habibur Rahman was the first Principal of this college. Among others Mr. Asraf Ali Joined as Principal of this college and served more than Thirty Years with good reputation up to 07-05-2006. Now Al-Haj Mr. Abul Kashem is Serving as Principal. He Joined on 18-08-2011 as Principal of this college. he has brought about a dramatical Change in all aspets of educational and infrastructural development of this college. So he is Called the Maker of Modern Abdul Jabbar College. It is a Non Government Degree College and honors Courses are going to be opened soon. There are 59 Teacher (Lecturer) in the College and more than 1340 students are learning here. In this college BNCC, Rover Scout and Girls Guide are in operation To accelerate The outstanding Performance along with academic side. There are Three Two strayed buildings with a Pacca Hostel and a beautiful Mosque in the college Campus. There is also a divine flower garden in front of Abdul Jabbar College which is not usually seen in another educational Institutions. Considering all These Abdul Jabbar College is a Unique One.
