Law institution has two functions, firstly, training students in case method of instruction so that they may become successful practitioners in their chosen profession. Secondly, to aid in improving the law by scientific and analytical study of existing laws by comparative jurisprudence with suggestions for improvement in the administration of law and relating law to other institutions of human society. It is the duty of a law institution to emphasize through research and publication by its faculty and through the character of its instruction, this broader base of legal education, apart from imparting merely professional training.
Geeta Institute of Law has a unique distinction as one of the prestigious Law Institute in the state of Haryana, offering 5-years integrated BA.LLB (Hons.) program and LL.B 3 years program. The institute is very well located on NH-1, G.T. Road Panipat, just 50 minutes run from Delhi, the capital of India. The institute was granted affiliation by the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in 2007 and affiliation has been approved by the Bar Council of India. The method of teaching in GIL includes lecture discussion, case law analysis, moot court training, project assignments, court visits, internship and legal aid programs and placement programs. The institute organizes seminars on issues of law and global concern on national and international level, conduct clinical courses and train students in legal research and legal writing. By the time a student completes the program he/she will be fully equipped with the required theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of law to become a full fledged responsible member of the legal profession.
